TOTAL SYSTEMS ENGINEERING ANALYSIS

SYNEXXUS’ Total System Engineering Analysis methodology provides valuation and complete design of complex engineering systems. Our innovative methodology integrates strategic investment decision analysis with systems optimization (maximizing) in order to create a best case engineering design and program. The “Total System Engineering Analysis” approach allows program managers and other decision makers to focus their efforts on maximizing operational value while streamlining the system acquisition.

SYNEXXUS’ Total System Engineering Analysis provides a quantifiable engineering system method for determining functional requirements in complex engineering systems. SYNEXXUS has pioneered a measurable engineering systems valuation toolset that includes multinomial, non-recombining decision tree, analysis and economic valuation. This approach also combines physics-based models, multi-objective optimization, Real Options, and Stakeholder Analysis. Through the use of these methods, program sponsors, program managers and critical decision makers can make the necessary performance trades necessary for an acquisition to operate effectively.

This new approach to systems engineering is an outgrowth of five years of pioneering academic, engineering and operational fieldwork in several DoD programs – including innovative engineering methodology developed jointly by SYNEXXUS and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).

Specifically, Total System Engineering Analysis will mitigate risks in the planning and design of systems or infrastructure by offering “options-based design strategies” that allow for the planners (and plans) to be more adaptive in how they respond to changing environmental factors as a hedge against uncertainty. Total System Engineering Analysis designs flexibility into the planning process and provides a transparent mechanism for enabling the program manager and other decision makers to make staged, informed and aligned decisions throughout the entire system design process. In addition, our approach provides a comprehensive procurement strategy, speeds up the overall design-build process and offers improved predictability of procurement/construction cost and final performance.

SYNEXXUS’ Total System Engineering Analysis has been applied in support of: US Army RDECOM (TARDEC) and Rapid Equipping Force (REF) for the Joint EOD Route Reconnaissance Vehicle (JERRV); MARCORSYSCOM and development of Information Architecture for the MRAP vehicle; for multiple programs for OSD; and with SOCOM and NSWC-Dahlgren in development of the Naval Special Warfare Shallow Water Combat Submersible, among others.
