Why the Seahorse?
Why the seahorse?
The SYNEXXUS logo depicts a hippocampus, an ancient Greek symbol that carried the mythical Poseidon throughout three ancient earthly domains: sea, land and air. SYNEXXUS adapted this symbol from a two thousand year old mosaic to create our logo. The medical community has also borrowed the mythical hippocampus to represent the mechanism within the limbic system that conveys memory, spatial navigation and emerging thought. The hippocampus is considered part of the forebrain, located in the medial temporal lobe. The symbolic term was used because the curved shape in the coronal sections of the brain resembles a seahorse.
Today as in ancient times, the hippocampus is put into service, this time to carry our company through three modern environments in which SYNEXXUS conducts business – sea, land, and cyberspace – while capitalizing on our operational experience, thought leadership and ability to innovate that combine to solve today’s complex system challenges and keep SYNEXXUS at the forefront of technology.
